Nintendo`s Wii video game system (pronounced 'we') is designed to attract people, regardless of their age or video game experience, to sit down and play together--whether they`re in the same room or on different sides of the globe. The system`s name reflects this simple idea. It`s easily pronounced in a variety of languages, and the distinctive spelling suggests two players side by side. The two Wii features Nintendo thinks will create new levels of gaming community are built-in Wi-Fi access, supported by a new online gaming service, and Wii`s intuitive, wireless, motion-sensitive game controller.
As with every new console release, much of the buzz surrounds the specs. The system boasts 512 MB of internal flash memory, two USB 2.0 ports, and a slot for SD memory expansion. Wii`s technological heart -- a processing chip developed with IBM and code-named 'Broadway' and a graphics chipset from ATI code-named 'Hollywood' -- are said to deliver stunning performance. Instead of a tray, Wii uses a single, self-loading media bay that will play both 12-centimeter optical discs used for the new system, as well as Nintendo GameCube discs.
The real revolution in this system, though, is its controller, called the Wii Remote. Shaped like a TV remote, it`s been designed to be easily used by beginners and pros alike. Sensors determine the Wii Remote`s position is in 3-D space, which means that racing-game steering and a tennis swing, for example, are done through movements of your hand rather than by just your thumbs.

Well my faveroute colour is black so thats why I got the black one. It comes with everything black (remote with black wii motion,nunchuck,black jacket) but I got a pink remote for my sister and a white one for guests/mum/dad. Wii sports resort is a great game, I thought I would play sword play the most but my sister is a basket ball fan do I spend most of my time there.
I have only had the console for 1 day and I am rating it five soooo...it's very cool!
Also (It dosent say in the desc.) the black version actually has more space and memory. Oh, and it looks AWESOME!
The mii's are great, I made some of my family (including me) and my friends and one enemy (THE DREADED JOSH CARIE!! AGHHH!!).
Though if you have alot of junk around your wii, because the black version shows a reflection, it wont look so good.
So if you havent got a console, this is a good first. Or second. Or third. Or fourth. Or..uh..five....th...

Bought for our only child as a birthday present. I have to limit her time on occasions now as she cant seem to put it down. I found this product an acceptable price - rather than the £200 tags I have seen. The included games she certainly gets alot of pleasure from include a light aircraft flying game which I seem to see alot being used and a bowling game. Perhaps the only down side is that there is only one numchuck thingy and they seem expensive to buy so at the moment we share it for dual play. My daughter who is 12 set it up on the tv within 20 minutes - she found it that easy.
I wasnt looking forward to it cluttering up the place to be honest- but its neat /sleek and you would hardly notice its presence.
