Product Description

Developed at Rebellion by the team responsible for the original 1999 classic, in the all-new Aliens vs. Predator players have the chance to take the role of the three infamous species; the Colonial Marine, the Predator and the Alien.

Each of the three species has its very own distinct story-driven single-player campaign mode that interweaves with the campaigns of the other two species. Aliens vs. Predator will also feature unique 3-way online multiplayer, allowing gamers to pit the three species against each other in the ultimate battle for survival and for the right to be crowned the deadliest species.

On planet BG-386 a colonist mining group discovers an ancient pyramid containing a dark and horrible secret. Across the stars a race of warriors is alerted to the discovery of their pyramid and a hunting party is dispatched to ensure that it remains sealed at all costs, whilst deep inside the ruined pyramid a malevolent intelligence awakes from centuries of dormancy.

The Marines story is an incredible fight against the odds, and the horrors lurking in the dark. Beset on all sides yet armed to the teeth, the Colonial Marine represents humanitys last stand with the firepower to fight back.

As the Alien, players will discover what its like to be the most murderous and lethal creature in the universe, with the ability to traverse any surface with awesome agility in order to get close enough to unleash its deadly teeth and claws.

A master of the hunt, the Predator grants the player a suite of exotic weaponry and equipment with which to stalk its unknowing prey. Earn the greatest honour by ambushing prey up-close and butchering them for a gory trophy kill.

This game is short if you play it on Easy possibly even Normal but all FPS veterens should go for Hard or above that lies the challege.

Ive just finished campaign on nightmare. Predator and finally Alien last night.. This was not easy and i know i am going to get stressed with marine campaign. A friend of mine said its impossible on nightmare made me all the more determend to finish it. Might have a break before diving in on marine nightmare though..This game is Definatly a game to play at night. Allot people didnt like predator, this however is my favioute as its a kind of think before i leap down to attack thing. Also each species has a tough challenge **SPOILLER** Predator has to take a huge pred/alien out the alien has major troubles with 2-3 preds and the marine is simply having a John Mclaine day "A very bad day".. this is without nightmare mode thrown in which definatly seperates the men from the boy's chaps lol. great game love the movies and the game extends the fun. Definatly not for all but biggest thing is each charactor has a learning curve. online i play a Pred my other mates 2 are alien's very good too and 1 guy is a marine and he can take on a load preds/Aliens without breaking a sweat! but we work as a team which we found is our new game to get stuck into still got love for MW2 but after the cheating put me off for a while now patch has been sorted no doubt we will go back to. Overal though definatly give AVP ago if you want a challenge/a slight change from MW2 etc..

I'm not going to comment on all the details of the game as most other reviewers have done and, to be honest, I don't really know how to use all the gaming terminology. But I love games and I have to say this is just too hard for me which wasted my enjoyment. I'm going to have to get qa walkthrough which defeats the purpose slightly.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant!!!!! DONT play on a full stomach!   March 1, 2010

Hi, bought this game at weekend and believe me it is absolutely spot on!! The Alien, well, be warned don't use after a big dinner, me and my mate almost emptied our stomachs at the speed it zips about. It took some getting use to but eventually I was ambushing and slaughtering like the rest of them. The predator is an absolute murderer, enough said! And the Marine? Meat with a pointed stick. I have to admit when I was the Marine the game got that tense I felt at one point I was going to have a heart attack. The ambience and music is incredibly tense and can get claustrophobic. Yes I hope I can play this game for years to come, (to me this is better than CoD) and makes a fair change from and in MY opinion there are more tactics involved (I sat and waited for my alien colleague to attack a predator, he was actually waiting for me, as soon as he attacked I vaulted over (the other Alien died) where I pounced and took the predator out. For the record the predator was waiting for a Marine, while we where waiting for the pred, the hunter becomes the hunted).

1 out of 5 stars Back to Basics is required for Segas developers of choice   February 27, 2010

lets forget about the MW2 gameplay aspect and compare the environmental engine under the hood - AvP is too restrictive... can't jump over railings, can't crouch, can't aim your rifle a damm making you spray and pray. there is no real AI squad based aspect.

differences from the first version Rebellion put out - well you could throw three flares and not the singular one - but not alot different apart from some shakey graphics.

Recommendations: I'd skip this and wait for Colonial Marines.
