Amazon.co.uk Review The sci-fi role-playing epic continues, as the Mass Effect story delves into darker territory and the fate of Commander Shepard, his crew and the entire galaxy. The saga continues with even more action and intrigue | Enemies will keep on coming even with missing limbs | Mass Effect 2 will see the return of many familiar faces | Equip and upgrade many new weapon types and biotics | A streamlined combat system makes the game even more action-packed than before, with a new regenerating health system that means you spend less time fiddling with menus and more time shooting enemies. You can also direct teammates individually with a simple press of a button, giving you greater tactical control over every encounter. The number of planets you can explore, and the complexity of the sub quests you find on them, has been greatly expanded from the first game - giving you a whole galaxy to explore at will. The original game was the most cohesive mix yet of action game and role-player and this sequel goes even further in combing both genres into one giant space opera. Key Features - Episode Two: Commander Shepard returns as the award-winning action role-player offers up even more intense storytelling and a whole new threat to humanity.
- All action: All-new combat options make the game even more action-packed, with more versatile controls, more weapons and better management of allies.
- Age of discovery: Even more exploration options than before, with more detailed side quests and many more developed planets to visit.
- Good talker: Revamped conversation system is more dynamic than ever, with faster, more realistic dialogue and a new cinematic camera.
- Ongoing story: If you have a save file from the first Mass Effect then the decisions you made will have an effect on the new game and old characters will remember you.

Wow. March 7, 2010 Mr. J. Harrison (Redhill, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this game when it came out, on a Friday. I then proceeded to play it for the entire weekend, completing it by Sunday. It isn't a short game (in modern videogame terms) at around 25hrs, but it is the best single-player shooter/rpg I have ever played, and is definitely in my top 5 games. Loved it!
Looking forward to DLC as well.
Bioware, great game! March 6, 2010 Gino Gilis (belgium, Antwerp) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I must say, its a great game.
Excellent gameplay, graphics and audio.
If you looking for a great SF-RPG tis is the one you gonne love.
Bioware did it again, it is better than the 1st one.
See you in space.
Amazing! March 6, 2010 Mr. J. R. Holden (UK East Sussex) A great game which you can truely interact with and every new game you can make it different for example be evil or nice, kill that person or save them.
The story line and game play is the best I know of today and the universe you can travel in is beautiful.
However there are some issues. Due to the HUGE game area (2 discs) there has been a lack of testing which has created many glitches like randomly starting floating or you team mates getting stuck. But that is just a small issue in the vast aawesomeness of the game.
If you like RPGs this is for you. If you like action games, consider it.
I give it 9/10.
Humanity needs a savior will that be you? March 6, 2010 J. Mitchell (Scotland) The long awaited sequel to Mass Effect is finally here with you taking control of Commander Shepard once again. The original Mass Effect is still one of the best games on the Xbox 360 so could its second outing live up to expectations?
The story is fantastic and really draws you in the voice acting is oustanding. I'm not going into detail as I don't want to spoil anything I'll just go by the back of the box in which it says you are embarking on a "suicide mission" and it's your job as Commander to prove everyone wrong.
The combat in ME2 is much the same as ME1 which is a little dissapointing with the AI in general seeming to do its own thing despite giving your squad orders. The exploration of planets has changed from ME1 in that you can now scan the planets for anomaly's and minerals while fun at first it soon becomes monotonous to the extreme but you don't have to do it to finish the game it just adds playtime to your experience.
One of the great things about ME2 is that with your copy of the game comes a code for the Cerberus Network which once activated enables you to download content for the game. At the time of review the content is free of charge which is very welcome in the age of over priced DLC although in Mass Effect's case it would probably be worth the money anyway but a nice change all the same.

Graphics 9 Once again, graphics within conversations is fantastic and in general good.
Sound 10 Fantastic voice acting no faults here.
Gameplay 8 No real changes from ME1 but while simple the gameplay does work.
Lifespan 9 A massive galaxy to explore multiple playthroughs are recommended.
Mass Effect 2 is whatever you want it to be whether you are ruthless or thoughtful in your decisions it really is up to you. It really is an experience you should not miss although I would recommend playing through the original Mass Effect if you haven't first before playing the sequel. 10/10. Thanks for reading. John Mitchell.
A near perfect game! March 5, 2010 Mike Parker (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I only give this a 5 stars as i think that 4 would be too low. It is a 9.5 out of 10 as it could of been better in a couple of areas.
This mass effect game out dose the first in every way.
It stunning to look at, the game combat is incredibly good and the vast world is overwhelmingly brilliant.
I was emotionally engaged from start to finish with every thing on screen, from old friends, potential partners or the fate of a planet.
This game offers so much too do and hits on nearly every one of them!
